The Global City Teams Challenge (GCTC) program is a collaborative platform for the development of smart cities and communities, led by National Institute of Standards and Technology, a bureau of U.S. Department of Commerce, in partnership with other U.S. federal agencies including National Science Foundation, International Trade Administration, and National Telecommunications and Information Administration. It enables local governments, nonprofit organizations, academic institutions, technologists, and corporations from all over the world to form project teams, or “action clusters,” and “SuperClusters,” to work on groundbreaking Internet of Things (IoT) and Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS) applications within the city and community environment.

EU selects Everimpact to be part of a restricted circle of 15 champions startups
Since Everimpact joined the Startup Acceleration Program of the European Commission back in august 2015 - 16 accelerators were in charge of delivering the 80 M€ of direct funding - a lot has happened. We developed the 1st version of our software, we showcased it at the Paris COP21 Climate Summit, and saw a lot of enthusiasm from City Officials.
Today, it is with great pleasure that we announce that Everimpact has passed another important milestone in the EU Acceleration Program: Everimpact was selected to be part of a restricted circle of 15 champions startups (Twitter Announcement).
By the numbers, this was a very competitive review made by the European Commission:
- 5,000+ applications were received by the 16 accelerators to join the EU Acceleration program
- 300+ startups got funded and joined one of the 16 accelerators either in the 2014 or 2015 batches
- Out of those 300s, 15 were selected to the restricted circle of champion startups
The 15 selected startups that will receive special support form the European Commission are:
The next stop is Milano, Italy, where we will be introduced to prestigious guests/mentors/trainers/entrepreneurs/investors, and where we will discuss the way forward for Everimpact with the EU.
In the meantime, we are finalising other exciting collaborations, stay tuned.
